This is a VERY RARE, ULTRA LOW VIN (556)… Original California Series 1 240Z in excellent unrestored low mile condition. NUMBERS MATCHING RUST FREE Classic Z car has been been well preserved and maintained. EXTREMELY RARE OFFERING from a private collection. This is a super collectable and correct, early series 1 Z in factory BLUE ON BLUE with a few minor tasteful enhancements for modern daily driving. Real Z collectors know that that the holy grail of collectible Z cars are the first 500 / 1969 build date cars… those cars are now into 6 figure territory. This car was completed in the first few days of 1970 which is clear by the vin and a few extremely rare features… clear rear glass, no factory carpeting, early console etc. Z’s with these period correct features and options are exceptionally rare, especially in this condition. Looks, runs, feels, and drives FANTASTIC. Miles are reported as original and beleivable with respect to roginal parts and overall condition but I do not have documentation. Built original motor with period Monza exhaust runs and sounds like a dream… true time capsule which I use on a regular basis with glee :). I have most of the parts required to return her to completely original… Excellent weekend cruiser or addition to any collection…. daily driver if you like while it increases in value… 🙂 A true head turner and a blast to drive. I actually use my cars and drive them daily… I prefer a period look and feel to 100 point concours cars… but this one wouldnt take much to go to that level.
Body is super straight and Rust Free. Fit and finish are quite good. Has a mixture of original paint and spot painted areas giving a lovely patina… the car presents beautifully. Floors /rails have been redone professionally.
RARE RARE RARE factory blue Interior is Excellent as well. Seats are recovered, headliner is new… panels all look great with some ware… Dash has minor cracking under the cover. Gauges and electronics work properly except the clock ( of course).
Original L24 Motor has been worked… I’m told it’s a “stroker” but no documents… in any case it starts, runs, and idles excellent with an aggressive but well mannered cam… Super responsive and nicely tuned. 4 Speed trans shifts smooth through the gears. Suspension feels tight and handles excellent. Goes down the road straight with no wiggles, shimmies, or shakes… Stops straight and sure. EXCELLENT driver. Extensive recent Freshening, service and tune… ready to roll!
Overall this is a Super Rare and Fabulous all around little classic Z in fantastic condition all around… Awesome weekend cruiser, show car, or addition to any collection. I am a Z collector… this is a great one for any Z car enthusiast, collector, or anyone looking for a cool vintage sports car at a great price.
