Vehicle Description

The 1996 Corvette was the final year for the long running C4 generation, and just like with the C3 generation, Chevrolet motor division decided to send the C4 out with a special Collectors Edition model. These one year only special editions were all painted Sebring Silver Metallic with the ZR-1 style five spoke silver painted wheels. Interior colors varied, with the buyer choosing from grey, black or torch red leather seats. The Collectors Edition was available on both the coupe and convertible models, and overall there were just over 5,400 produced. Of those 5,400, only 1,381 were convertibles, and of those convertibles, only 469 were powered by the awesome LT4 V-8. The beautiful low mileage example you see here has been lovingly cared for by the same owner for the last 20+ years. It is possibly one of the finest Collector Edition convertibles you will ever come across.

This awesome Corvette has received a few external modifications such as chrome door handles, chrome Corvette lettering, and the beautiful custom painted side exhausts. These custom units give a completely different look to the roadster body, and harken back to the C3 side exhausts. Beautiful C6 ZR1 style chrome wheels have been added and come wrapped in super sticky high performance Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Overall, these few slight modifications give this classic Corvette a classy and yet muscular appeal. The black convertible top is in as new condition, and has a heated back glass window, no vinyl window on this baby! On the inside you will be treated to all the power accessories you expect from a Corvette. Power windows, locks and mirrors are all accounted for. The seats are the sport model, wrapped in dove grey leather with adjustable lumbar and side bolster supports to keep you in place and comfortable. The gauges feature an LCD display front and center flanked by analog gauges for the ancillary readings. When you’re not listening to the beautiful rumble emanating from the side pipes, you can use the Delco/Bose Gold premium stereo to blast your favorite tunes so loud the guy in the next lane over can appreciate your musical tastes. Under the hood is a true gem of a V8, all dressed up with a red intake manifold and matching spark plug wires. This high revving small block was called LT4, and produced a conservatively rated 330 horsepower and 340 lb. ft. of torque.

Mated with the only transmission available, ZF’s sweet shifting 6 speed, this Corvette can lay down two long black rubber stripes with just a twist of your ankle!
